I have been meaning for years to create a blog that I update randomly (read:whenever I have time!) and somewhat regularly. I feel this is a tool that I need to use to communicate with our staff, students, parents, and community members. It allows quicker dissemination of information, a place to quash rumors, as well as a great place to just let people know what goes on or what may help them!
I promise i will try to use thus tool to do all of the above and maybe a little bit more!
We are blessed to live in a growing community that is very dynamic in many ways! We have a thriving chamber of commerce that is still in its infancy, we have new residents moving to town pretty much weekly, and we have a city that is working to stay ahead of the curve and provide resources to the residents. We at the school do the same thing. We have new students enrolling weekly - You may not know this, but as of Friday, January 24th, JISD had 1301 students enrolled. We ended the 2013-2014 School year with 1170 students, and we started the 2014-2015 students with 1213 students. So you can see that we have a continuous influx of new students. As we grow, we truly try to change and adapt how we work with students. This will never stop as it is something we must do!
